Lucky 7 Sportsman Race - New Smyrna Speedway 09-19-09
You know I am really starting to believe I jinxed myself when I named this car the "Lucky 7"! We had everything working on the car and it was running right up front.  I had people I didn't even know coming up to me before the race telling me I was going to win. It seemed like it was going to be my night as I took off to line up for the race but in a split second about 9 laps into the race everything changed. (more...)

Lucky 7 Sportsman Race - New Smyrna Speedway 09-05-09
Can you hear me knocking? I'm right there at the doorway to a victory.  Finally, all our hard work is starting pay off.
After last weeks race I was pretty happy with the car but it seemed that there was still something not quite right about the motor.  We decided to pull the carb off and have it rebuilt and boy am I glad I did. (more...)

This Saturday was "save the tata's" night! Man, we had a blast!
Last week I only made the first practice before my clutch gave out but this week everything worked as it should and I made a big jump towards winning a race.  In fact, I could have won this one had things gone a little bit differently. (more...)

Lucky 7 Sportsman Race - New Smyrna Speedway 08-08-09
I haven't written a full race report for the last 2 races because my night was over almost as soon as it started, but last night was more like what we have been working toward all year. For the first time this year the car held up and ran great and I was able to get my laps times down into the 19 second range. Still, I have a few tenths to go before I can expect to win one of these things. (more...)

Lucky 7 Sportsman Race - New Smyrna Speedway 05-30-09
You know we missed the race a few weeks ago. It took us a while to figure out what was wrong with the motor. We had it out of the car and on a dyno for 2 days with 4 very experienced guys trying to figure out what was wrong with it. They tried everything they could think of but the motor still missed. Finally, they changed the intake manifold and the problem cleared up. (more...)

When we named this car Lucky 7 it was sort of wishful thinking but this car doesn't have a lick of luck in it! If it ever did we have just about replaced everything from bumper to bumper so the luck must be in the heap of worn out parts sitting on the side of my shop. (more...)

You might already know that this car was loaned to me. In its hay day it was the fastest car in it's class but it had been sitting in a warehouse for about 7 years before I got my hands on it. (more...)

World Series of Asphalt - New Smyrna Speedway - 02-6 - 14-09
Well, my racing season is off to a much better start than last year.  Last week we raced in the World Series of Asphalt.  This event is like 9 Saturday nights in a row of which  I was able to race 5 of them. (more...)
